Day one of the second week! Woot! Day eight is all about social media sharing and an easy way to find adorable social media buttons around the internet that you can use without paying for. There are several different places you can find free ones online.
There are also super cheap ones if you don’t mind spending a couple dollars on your website. Which I recommend, of course.
When my fabulous web lady was working on my new design for my website, I paid her to create custom buttons with my own ideas of what I wanted. For a whole $20 I got these adorable buttons which were exactly what I wanted for my site. Honestly, they couldn’t have been anymore perfect for the design. Everything I was imagining in my head.
So this is where you can start looking for your own social media buttons.
- Pinterest – You can often find free buttons on Pinterest for social media accounts.
- Etsy – On Etsy you can have your own made, or you can buy stock designs for cheap. Often these range from $5-$10.
- deviantart - This is also another great site to find social media buttons on, although some of them are for sale as opposed to free use.
Now something else you should also install onto your blog is social media sharing buttons. An example of what I personally use is called Scrolling Social Sidebar. Which looks like this:
It gives the reader the opportunity to click right there, simple as pie and share on social media. Facebook, Twitter, Stumble, Google +, whatever. You can add whatever social media outlets you would like to share as well. Editing the settings of the Plugin is really simple.
But having these easy social media buttons available is extremely important, because it makes people want to share your post when it is really simple. If they have to take extra steps to share your post, they probably won’t.
